So I woke up late today (a friend had some friends visiting, which facilitated a night at Potterow), and sun was pouring through my window (which I've figured out faces south). Now, I'm not used to sun pouring through my window in the morning...generally I've managed to live in places where I get in the evening (west-facing windows) or not at all (north-facing windows...I've always lived pretty far north, so the sun tracks south of me). But here it's a south facing window, so I get the sun pretty early in the day (and I mean, like, 11:30am here, when it was about at its highest). Well, I was very excited. I've wanted to wander down to the Firth of Forth, the mouth of whatever river it is that runs into the North Sea here, for quite some time, but I haven't for various reasons. Yesterday as I was wandering around, I determined that, if the weather was nice today, I'd finally do it.
So I jumped out of bed, showerd, put on shorts ('cause it was really warm...well, for me anyway), and set out. And as soon as I got outside, the desire to go down to the water completely disappeared. Strange, no? But, since I've been trying what some might call a hedonistic approach to life (do what I want when I feel the need to do it), I determined that I should follow my gut, and not go. Instead, I got some food, came back, watched the second episode of Joss Whedon's new Dollhouse (fantastic, by the way), and have just been chilling in my room. Not a bad day.
Later, I'll go to Mass, and then come home and relax. Tomorrow, hopefully, I will start writing the draft of this chapter for which I've been doing research.

So, I was very, very excited by this. I'm fascinated by all things historical, and by all things mythological, and the Lost City of Atlantis holds the rare place of possibly being a bit of both (for the record, yes, I do believe it's possible that Atlantis existed, and the ruins are somewhere still, and I do believe it's possible that Bigfoot exists, also). This would have been the find of a century...of a millenium. But, however, this was published Friday, and since I know nothing about how these maps are put together, I'm willing to believe the Google representative. Not Atlantis...but oh well. The search goes on, I suppose.

I'm going to start watching Battlestar Galactica, as I'm told it's fantastic. I'm off!
